Epc has been selling health insurance for the past 25 years with all the major carriers. We realized the larger the deductible purchased, the lower the monthly/annual premiums became. This basic concept created a major savings in premium for the employer, possibly as high as 30/50%. However the employee then faced large Out-of-Pocket costs; thus, the creation of the "EPC CONCEPT".

We can then purchase the high Out-of-Pocket plans resulting in large premium savings for the employer; and then offer a lower and more affordable Out-of-Pocket to the employee (using some of the premium savings to fund the claims). This basic idea is the "EPC CONCEPT" and is a cost effective way of purchasing health care. The result is that the employer saves in premium and shares in the cost of the claims with the employees who use the plan. The idea was born on the West Coast and became very popular when an insurance company (Chubb) started selling these plans to the public and naming it their Split Funded Policy. We found the original idea in an article in the Million Dollar Round Table publication (1982), and started EPC Associates.

We still sell the traditional health insurance policies to those companies/employers not yet ready to embrace the "EPC CONCEPT".
